Meghan Markle’s 13 Best Fashion Moments Since Becoming a Royal

Since joining forces with Givenchy’s artistic director Clare Waight Keller for her royal wedding gown, Markle has seemingly taken a few style notes from famous Givenchy muse, Audrey Hepburn. For the Royal Air Force’s 100th anniversary celebration, Markle wore a navy fit-and-flare dress with a boatneck neckline, reminiscent of the black cocktail dress Hepburn wore in Sabrina.

For her Trooping the Colour debut, Meghan Markle was all smiles with her new bestie, Kate Middleton, and looked every bit a princess in a pretty blush off-the-shoulder dress, designed by Caroline Herrera.

When the Duchess finds a brand she loves, she’s loyal to the bone. Here, Markle is dressed in two of her favorite brands, a Caroline Herrera denim dress and a J. Crew straw clutch (which was on sale but promptly sold out). She also walked on grass with ease in a nude pair of Aquazzura heels.

At the Royal Ascot earlier this year, Markle gave a classic Audrey Hepburn look a modern-day update. In the 1964 musical My Fair Lady, Hepburn’s Eliza attended the Royal Ascot in a black-and-white ensemble laced with ruffles and bows. For Markle’s debut, she scaled back on the ruffles and opted for a simple white shirt dress, paired with a skinny black belt and a black-and-white fascinator similar (but wayyy smaller) than the one Hepburn wore.

Meghan Markle can do a lot of things, and making a sleeveless trench coat fashun is another feat she recently added to her list. The Duchess of Sussex wore a beige Nonie trench coat dress while on a trip with Prince Harry to an exhibit honoring the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

Another splash of color made its way into Markle’s typically natural-toned wardrobe. Auntie Markle attended Prince Louis’ christening in an olive green Ralph Lauren dress and matching pumps. She accessorized with a green clutch and green Stephen Jones fascinator.

Just a few days after tying the knot at St. George’s Chapel. Markle attended the Prince of Wales’ 70th Birthday celebration in a soft pink Goat dress with mesh sleeves and a wide-brim hat.

For her first Wimbledon as a royal, Meghan was joined by her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, to watch the women’s final. Meghan opted for a more nautical look, donning a blue and white striped button down, white wide-leg trousers and a white straw hat.

Givenchy’s latest muse is as loyal as they come. During her brief Dublin tour with Harry, Markle wore a forest green Givenchy sweater and skirt set. She also paired the set with a brown Strathberry tote bag and Paul Andrew heels. The outfit was just one of four of the Duchess’ priciest Dublin looks, all four totaling a cool $40,189.65.

It’s no secret Meghan loves a boatneck neckline, as evidenced by the majority of the dress designs she’s photographed in. During her Ireland visit, Meghan donned a gray Roland Mouret dress with a waterfall draping and a pair of Paul Andrew heels.

Markle tends to stick to neutral hues, but the new royal stepped out of her comfort zone and into a bright yellow Brandon Maxwell dress to attend the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge Reception. So if Gen-Z yellow actually becomes a thing (sorry millennial pink), we have Markle to thank.
