“ADEAM SS19 is inspired by disco / nightclub culture. I was inspired by how nightclubs are a melting pot of different cultures, and they’re a place where new modes of fashion are born.”

“This season for Spring 2019 the collection was inspired by the perfect dream holiday vacation in Hawaii. Chic and elegant island life inspired bold tropical prints, animal printed organza separates, textured raffia coats and jackets and bright citrus evening gowns. I wanted the collection to feel playful, colorful, bright and romantic with femininity but still powerful and exciting. The collection has movement like a dance at a Hawaiian luau and feels fresh and young for our ever growing customer.”

“Laurence & Chico’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection is inspired by ‘Sports.’ We love the aesthetic of identical athletic wear and find the fit, silhouette, and lifestyle interesting. A large part of the collection is inspired by combining the look of athletic wear together through various techniques including deconstruction, draping, and repurposing elements to create something new. This allows for multiple ways to style and wear each individual piece.”

“I’ve always been very passionate about different cultures, but I’ve ignored one main part of my own cultural identity for the majority of my life. Having lived in 4 different countries and seeing the beauty in other cultures really helped me embrace my own. This collection was born from a recent realization that I don’t have to choose one single culture to identify with and that I can be both Korean and American and whatever else I am inspired by.”

“Because we attribute western culture to power, wealth, and abundance, I think the insertion of blackness as having reclaimed this is very interesting. The disruption of contemporary blackness being what it shouldn’t creates its own alternate reality.”

“For Chromat’s SS ’19 collection – “Chromat SS ’19 is inspired by wet t-shirts. Specifically at middle school pool parties when you’re too embarrassed to wear an actual swimsuit and you put a giant t shirt on top. We wanted to flip that moment of humiliation and make it a garment to wear proudly.”

“Utilizing vibrant colors and intricate embroidery, the Cushnie Spring/Summer 2019 Collection celebrates the lively culture of Jamaica.”

“Trina Turk Spring 2019 is inspired by the tourist who travels seeking new tastes, sights and experiences.”

“This season, the collection advocates respect for nature, respecting the return of the heart, longing for the casual but refined life quality. The clothing consists of classical pattern, pictographic characters ‘牖 (you)’ quilting process, waterproof, windproof functional fabrics and rocking elements such as ropes, belts, buckles, etc. Black, white and gray are used as the basic color, embellished with bright yellow, rose, magenta and silver, embodying the aesthetic movement through traditional and modern collision.”

“I always start my design process with where my woman is sitting in a room, for this collection I have taken her outside…my inspiration came from a mixture of Stealing Beauty and Jeanne Damas, her spirit is very free.”
