NRG Taps Chris Rethore as Chief Strategy Officer (EXCLUSIVE)

National Research Group (NRG) has tapped Chris Rethore as its chief strategy officer.

A veteran executive, he previously served as chief operating officer at MarketCast, where he created a custom research practice and expanded into new entertainment verticals. He also integrated several businesses in social analytics (Fizziology), brand strategy (Insight Strategy Group) and sports (Turnkey Intelligence). Before beginning his career at MarketCast, Rethore was a vice president at PSB, where he directed its media and entertainment division.

“Chris is an outstanding data driven consultant and leader who I have long admired. His unique blend of creativity, research acumen, passion for storytelling, and outcome-oriented approach make him the ideal person to bring to life our vision for the next phase of growth at NRG,” said Jon Penn, CEO of NRG, in a statement.

The chief strategy officer is a newly created role at NRG. Rethore has been tapped to help grow the firm’s key client relationships, oversee the expansion of its thought-leadership initiatives, and create new product lines. NRG offers data-driven analysis and market research for entertainment and technology companies.

“I’m excited to be joining NRG as it embarks on this next phase of rapid growth,” Rethore said in a statement. “With a team of trusted advisors and industry-leading researchers at its center, NRG remains decisively positioned at the nexus of content, culture and technological change. Boldly looking to the future to anticipate and understand client challenges and emerging consumer behaviors is an essential pillar of NRG’s DNA. The opportunity to scale the firm’s next essential products and advisory services, powered by cutting-edge data science, proved an ideal fit for me.”
