The third episode of “Live From My Den,” the weekly video series from Artists Den and Variety, features Glass Animals frontman Dave Bayley performing in his London home.
We also get a remarkable tour of his townhouse and studio from Bayley himself, who is clad in stylish beige overalls and does some ambitious camerawork with his iPhone, giving a very detailed inspection of his enviable home studio. Amid all sorts of memorabilia, bric-a-brac and geegaws, look out for indoor palm trees, a coffee-table book on toilet paper, a custom pair of Glass Animals-Denzel Curry nunchuks and a heating pad.
He plays music, too! While he’s playing songs from the group’s third and most recent album, “Dreamland,” he gives an intimate and revealing look about the process behind the art — it’s probably the way a great many of the group’s songs were born.
“Live From My Den” features a wide range of top artists and rising stars spanning an equally diverse array of musical genres, including Phantogram, Pink Sweat$, Foster the People, and many more. The series kicked off on Oct. 16 with multiple Latin Grammy Award-winner Sebastián Yatra, followed by Aloe Blacc last week.
Along with live performances, guest artists answer fan questions and show off their home recording studios, instruments and locations tied to their favorite songs. With its intimate setting and approach, “Live From My Den” offers fans a unique audio-visual experience paired with the storytelling and quality that has made Artists Den a global destination for more than a decade.
Furthermore, each episode of “Live From My Den” will highlight a local charity important to the artist, to be promoted via donation links and targeted messaging.
