NBCUniversal News Group Seeks Video Feed of Trump Election Conspiracy Case

NBCUniversal filed an individual request for a video feed to be provided of former President Donald Trump‘s election conspiracy case, which has been scheduled to start on March 4 of next year.

NBCU did so even though a coalition of major news organizations filed a request earlier this month for televised proceedings. NBCU also called for an oral hearing on the matter, in a filing made in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Deadline previously reported on the NBCU filing.

In its request, NBCU suggested that real-time news coverage of the legal proceedings were essential. Unless permitted by the Court, the company said in its filing, “only the very small number of people who can access the physical courtroom will ever be able to see and hear the trial for themselves, and everyone else will instead have to rely on second- and third-hand coverage and cold transcripts.”
