‘Barbie,’ ‘The Boys’ and Amazon’s Jessica Thurber Hemingway Honored at Silver Pixel Awards

Barbie” and “The Boys” were lauded as top film and streaming series at the 6th annual Silver Pixel Awards, which recognize achievements and innovation in Hollywood digital marketing.

Amazon Studios’ Jessica Thurber Hemingway, Lionsgate’s Eric Dachman and Division 13’s Jim Evans were the industry executive honorees at the event, held Oct. 19 at Candela La Brea. The awards are administered by Hollywood in Pixels, a nonprofit organization devoted to preserving and archiving the history of digital marketing in Hollywood.

Warner Bros.’ box office juggernaut “Barbie” won the org’s top honor for film; Paramount Pictures’ “Scream VI” took the bronze runner-up prize. Amazon Prime Video’s offbeat superhero series “The Boys” Season 3 nabbed the streaming series prize. Prime Video’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty” Season 1 took the bronze for series.

Hemingway, head of social and influencer marketing at Amazon Studios, was this year’s Silver Pixel Honoree. The team she leads is responsible for social and influencer campaigns for all Amazon’s original movies and series releases. Hemingway most recently led the campaigns for “Air,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “Swarm.” She has worked over 15 years in entertainment marketing, including 11 of those at Warner Bros., where she last served as senior vice president of worldwide digital marketing. She oversaw digital marketing efforts at Warner Bros. for “Wonder Woman,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” “Pokemon Detective Pikachu” and “Magic Mike,” in addition to “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” film series.

Dachman, executive director of digital marketing at Lionsgate, was chosen as the Rising Pixel Honoree. Previously at IMAX, Dachman has been at Lionsgate for four years, and his current responsibilities include developing and implementing the digital strategies for the upcoming slate of theatrical movies. He helped grow the Lionsgate TikTok to over 5 million followers.

Evans, founder of Division 13 Design Group, was named the Visionary Pixel Honoree. Under his leadership, Division 13 has worked with nearly every studio to build a portfolio of award-winning digital campaigns for films such as “The Ring,” “Hellboy,” “Kung Fu Panda” and the “Madagascar” franchise.

The Silver Pixel Awards were founded in 2015 to honor groundbreaking campaigns that set a new path in the evolution of digital marketing.
