‘Dawson’s Creek’ Full Series Streaming for Free on The CW App (EXCLUSIVE)

It turns out, you don’t have to wait — or pay.

All 128 episodes of “Dawson’s Creek” are now available to stream on The CW app, Variety can exclusively announce.

The fully ad-supported app, which has more than 96 million downloads, is available for free on all major platforms. It is both the home to the latest seasons of The CW’s primetime programming and has a large library of film and television content for on-demand viewing. Additionally, the app does not require any login information.

The CW has been undergoing a great deal of change since new owner Nexstar has taken over; the network that once leaned into superheroes and teen dramas is now featuring comedies, straight dramas, sports and unscripted fare. Still, bring some fan-favorites to the app remains an important part of the company’s strategy.

Dawson’s Creek” aired from 1998 to 2003, beginning on The WB, then moving to the newly-formed CW. It followed a group of friends in Capeside, Massachusetts: Longtime buds Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek), Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) and Pacey Witter (Joshua Jackson), who meet new girl in town Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams) the day before starting high school. All four remained on the show throughout all six seasons.

“Scream” screenwriter Kevin Williamson created the teen drama, which became a massive hit and carved a prominent spot in the zeitgeist.

“I think in the beginning, it was a very, very difficult time for me because ‘Scream’ hit big, ‘Dawson’s Creek’ hit big and I was really pulled in a bunch of different directions. I stumbled a little bit, and and it took some time to get my footing and figure out how to do this,” he told Variety when celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary earlier this year. “‘Dawson’s Creek’ was the show I grew up on, and what was so beautiful about it was that it was my childhood. It’s so autobiographical in so many ways.”
