How to Watch the 2024 Critics Choice Awards Online

The 29th annual Critics’ Choice Awards, honoring the year’s best in film and television, are set to air Sunday evening.

The ceremony will broadcast live on the CW starting at 7 p.m. ET, but those without cable can still tune into the action on live TV streaming platforms such as DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, Fubo TV and Hulu + Live TV.

Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” leads the nominations for film with a record-breaking 18. nods, the most of any film in the organization’s 29 years, surpassing “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “The Shape of Water” which landed 14 during their respective years. Among its mentions were for best picture, director, actress (Margot Robbie), supporting actor (Ryan Gosling (supporting actor), supporting actress (America Ferrera (supporting actress) and three for original song: “Dance the Night,” “I’m Just Ken” and “What Was I Made For?”

Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” garnered 13 nominations each including best picture, tied for the second most for movies. Rounding out the best picture category are Cord Jefferson’s “American Fiction,” Blitz Bazawule’s “The Color Purple,” Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers,” Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” Celine Song’s “Past Lives” and a surprising nom for Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn.”

Chelsea Handler will return to host this year’s ceremony for the second year in a row. “I watch everything,” she told Variety about returning for the hosting gig. “I’ve been watching every movie and show up here in my little chalet in preparation. There’s a lot of horny movies out there — a lot of horniness.”
