SXSW-Bound Berlin EFM Supernatural Film ‘Oddity’ Boarded by Blue Finch Films (EXCLUSIVE)

U.K.-based sales and distribution company Blue Finch Films has boarded international sales for select territories to Shudder original film “Oddity.”

Written and directed by Damian McCarthy (“Caveat”), the supernatural film will have its world premiere at SXSW 2024 as part of the Midnighter section. Blue Finch will introduce the title in advance to buyers at the Berlin European Film Market (EFM).

“Oddity” follows Darcy, a blind medium, who uncovers the sinister truth behind her sister’s death with the help of a frightening wooden mannequin. The cast includes Gwilym Lee (“The Great”), Carolyn Bracken (“The Gone”), Tadhg Murphy (“Brassic”), Caroline Menton (“Altar Boys”), Steve Wall (“The English”), Jonathan French (“The Rock in the Sea”) and Joe Rooney (“Harry Wild”).

The film is produced by Shudder, Keeper Pictures and Nowhere Films and is set for a streaming release this summer.

Shudder original “Destroy All Neighbors” will also join Blue Finch’s slate at EFM. The horror-comedy, which had its Shudder debut on Jan. 12, follows a struggling musician who finds himself in a living nightmare when he accidentally kills the neighbor from hell. Directed by Josh Forbes (“Contracted: Phase II”), the film is produced by Russell Sanzgiri, Alex Winter and Jonah Ray. The cast includes Jonah Ray (“Suitable Flesh”), Kiran Deol (“Advanced Chemistry”) and Randee Heller (“Cobra Kai”).

Blue Finch’s international slate also includes thriller “Steppenwolf” from writer-director Adilkhan Yerzhanov, which premiered at Rotterdam, Sitges and Beyond Fest title “Last Straw,” Tribeca selected “You’ll Never Find Me,” SXSW narrative competition winner “Raging Grace” and Sydney-winning, SXSW 2024-selected gender politics thriller “Birdeater.”
