‘Money Heist’ Star Ursula Corbero Joins Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch in ‘The Day of the Jackal’ (EXCLUSIVE)

“Money Heist” star Úrsula Corberó is set to join Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch in Sky and Peacock’s reimagining of “The Day of the Jackal,” Variety has learned.

In the series, which will drop later this year, “Cabaret” actor Redmayne will play elusive assassin The Jackal while “No Time to Die” star Lynch takes on the role of tenacious MI6 agent Bianca, who goes on a relentless global pursuit to catch him.

Corberó joins as Nuria, a woman who is familiar with The Jackal in his personal life but has no idea of who he truly is.

Joining her are Charles Dance (”Game of Thrones”) as Timothy Winthrop, Richard Dormer (“Blue Lights”) as Norman and Chukwudi Iwuji (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) as Osita Halcrow.

Lia Williams (“The Crown”) as Isabel Kirby rounds out the cast alongside Khalid Abdalla (“The Kite Runner”) as Ulle Dag Charles, Eleanor Matsuura (“The Walking Dead”) as Zina Jansone, Jonjo O’Neill (“Bad Sisters”) as Edward Carver and Sule Rimi (“Andor”) as Paul Pullman.

“Top Boy” creator Ronan Bennett has written and adapted Frederick Forsyth’s novel, which was made into a 1973 film by Universal Pictures. Universal International Studios banner Carnival Films, best known for “Downton Abbey,” are producing the 10-part series, which is lead directed by Brian Kirk (“Luther”).

Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant exec produce for Carnival Films alongside Redmayne and Lynch, who’s a co-executive producer. Sam Hoyle exec produces for Sky Studios. Sue Naegle is also exec producing and Marianne Buckland is co-executive producer. Christopher Hall produces and Emily Shapland co-produces. Frederick Forsyth is consulting producer.

Sky Studios and Peacock commissioned the show, which will land on Peacock in the U.S. and on Sky in the U.K., Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution are handling international sales.
