All Best Actress Oscar Winners in Academy Award History

Frances McDormand (2017)

“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”

McDormand swept early awards (Golden Globes, SAG Awards, BAFTAs, etc.) so her victory was not a surprise, but she proved a popular choice at the Oscars — even more so after her rousing acceptance speech.
