The international distribution company Glass House Distribution has acquired the worldwide rights to “The Private Eye,” a mystery, comedy and romance. The film was written and directed by Jack Cook and stars comedian Matt Rife. Glass House Distribution will represent the movie at the Cannes Film Festival in May with all territories available.
The official description for the film reads, “Private investigator Mort Madison (Matt Rife) has seen his better days. A mysterious woman, Michelle (Clare Grant) hires him to spy on David (Elliot), whom he believed to be her lover. In the detective process Mort himself falls in love with Michelle and decides the only way he can be with her is by eliminating David from the equation. Mort hopes this will entice Michelle to run away with him and live happily ever after only to reveal a mind-blowing twist.”
“The Private Eye is a fun, twisty comedy/mystery where everything is not quite as it seems. We’re really excited to bring this film to a big audience,” Tom Malloy, president and co-founder of Glass House Distribution, said.

The rest of the cast includes Clare Grant, Elliot, Denzel Whitaker, Eric Roberts and Elijah Boothe. Patrick Roe, Hope Ayiyi, and Rosalinda Books co-wrote the film.
“It was very important for us to find the right home for ‘The Private Eye’ because it is my directorial debut,” Cook said. “I wanted to partner with people that showed the movie the attention it deserves, Glass House Distribution are those people.”
The deal was negotiated by Tom Malloy on behalf of Glass House Distribution with Cook and Elliot Hebeler of Illusion Islands, executive producers Brendan Moriarty and Bryce DiCristofalo, and Lee Meltzer of Lee Meltzer Consulting acting on behalf of the filmmakers.
The movie is produced by Hope Ayiyi, Alex Kagianaris, Elijah Boothe, Stream Gardner and Illusion Islands. Executive producers include Brendan Moriarty, Bryce DiCristofalo, Joe Hebeler, John Hebeler, Mark Doc Berry, Stan Paris, Jeff Schoenling, Tim Dougherty, Chip Turner, and Bill McCloy.
