Ryan Murphy ABC Series ‘Dr. Odyssey’ Casts Sean Teale

Sean Teale has been cast as a series regular in Ryan Murphy‘s upcoming ABC series “Dr. Odyssey,” Variety has learned.

Teale will star in the series alongside previously announced lead Joshua Jackson as well as fellow cast members Don Johnson and Phillipa Soo. Plot and character details for the show are being kept under wraps, but sources say the series is a medical procedural set on a cruise ship. It is slated to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

Teale first broke out as a cast member in the popular UK series “Skins,” holding a main role in the series during its fifth and sixth seasons. He went on to star in shows like “Mr. Selfridge” and “Reign.” His other recent credits include leading the Syfy series “Incorporated” as well as starring in shows like “The Gifted” at Fox, “Little Voice” at Apple TV+, and “Who Is Erin Carter?” at Netflix. He has also appeared in features such as “Rosaline,” “The Red Tent,” “Survivor,” and the upcoming Netflix film “Mother of the Bride.”

Murphy is co-writing “Dr. Odyssey” with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. All three also serve as executive producers, as does Jackson. Murphy executive produces via Ryan Murphy Television. Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich also executive produce. Paris Barclay is attached to direct and executive produce. 20th Television is the studio, where Murphy and his company are under an overall deal.
