“Deal or No Deal Island” has been renewed for Season 2 at NBC.
The news comes just under a week ahead of the Season 1 finale, which will air on May 13. Hosted by Joe Manganiello, the series is averaging 5.8 million total viewers across all platforms, per NBC, and ranks as the top NBC unscripted series on Peacock.
“With expert gameplay, adventure and a new layer of strategy, the reimagined ‘Deal or No Deal Island’ had fans on the edge of their seats, just like the original,” said Corie Henson, executive vice president of unscripted content at NBCUniversal. “A huge thanks to our crew and the biggest gamer of them all, host Joe Manganiello. Together we’re thrilled to be back with another season that will be sure to test the contestants and the Banker’s limits.”
In the series, players compete in challenges to secure the iconic “Deal or No Deal” briefcases hidden across the island. In each episode, the player that secures the highest-value briefcase gains immunity and sends another player to “The Temple.” If that player makes a deal with the Banker for less than the value of their briefcase, they are eliminated. If they make a good deal, they stay in the game and select whom should be eliminated. The winnings from each game are added to a communal pot, with the last player at the end of the season potentially winning it all.
