Chappell Roan to Perform at Elton John’s 33rd Annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Event

Chappell Roan is stepping out for a performance at the 33rd annual Elton Johns AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, taking place on March 2 in West Hollywood, CA.

The party, which draws an A-list crowd each year, will be co-hosted by Jean Smart, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. The event will also welcome members of the Benefit Chair and Committee including Megan Thee Stallion, Hozier, Sharon Stone, Sean Penn, Mick Jagger and Jeffrey Wright.

“Music has always been a force for change, uniting communities, raising awareness, and inspiring hope in the fight against AIDS,” said John. “Today, as AIDS still claims a life every minute, that spirit fuels our mission to end the epidemic by standing against stigma and ensuring equal access to care,” said Elton John, Founder, Elton John AIDS Foundation. “David and I are thrilled to gather with friends and supporters once again, and we’re honored to welcome the bold and authentic Chappell Roan as this year’s performer, whose artistry embodies the power of music to inspire change.”

Last year, John took the stage to perform “Are You Ready for Love” alongside the evening’s musical headliners, the trio Gabriels. The event raised a record-setting $10.8 million, surpassing the previous high total set in 2022 by more than $1 million, in part from a live auction that saw bidding wars on Chopard earrings from Maison’s, a bedazzled Yamaha piano and John’s personal belongings.

“Since its inception in 1992, The Academy Awards® Viewing Party has raised nearly $115 million—an incredible testament to what we can achieve when we come together with purpose and passion,” said Anne Aslett, CEO, Elton John AIDS Foundation. “While we’ve made progress, HIV remains a serious threat to vulnerable communities worldwide. Events like this ensure we have the resources to continue making strides. We’re grateful to all who support the Foundation and look forward to seeing their generosity drive lasting change for people living with and affected by HIV.”
