Jon Hamm is redonning his fedora for the role of Jack Bergin, an FBI agent turned private investigator, in the new Audible original series “The Big Fix: A Jack Bergin Mystery.”
The eight-part series, created by John Mankiewicz and directed by Aaron Lipstadt, is a sequel to Audible’s cinematic audio drama “The Big Lie” from the duo. The new season debuts exclusively on Audible on April 24. Hamm leads an all-star cast in “a riveting tale of corruption and displacement in 1950s Los Angeles,” according to Audible. (Listen to the trailer below.) The series is produced with Fresh Produce Media, an audio entertainment company led by founder and CEO Jason Ross.
In the upcoming installment, Hamm is joined by returning cast members Ana de la Reguera and John Slattery, alongside newcomers Alia Shawkat, Omar Epps, Erin Moriarty, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Sosie Bacon, David Giuntoli and Taylor Zakhar Perez.

“The Big Fix” is set in 1957, when Jack Bergin — now the hottest private investigator in Los Angeles — suddenly finds himself entangled in a web of power, corruption and murder that reaches the highest levels of L.A.’s government and elite. As Bergin investigates a brutal murder at the request of an old flame (de la Reguera), he uncovers a deadly conspiracy to forcefully evict a Mexican American community to capitalize on the land around the Brooklyn Dodgers’ new home. The story is set in the aftermath of the real-life Chavez Ravine evictions, a dark moment in the history of Los Angeles with very real modern-day relevance. The audio drama “will immerse listeners in the gritty underbelly of a city on the cusp of transformation, where the price of progress may be more than anyone is willing to pay,” according to Audible’s description.

Mankiewicz is the grandson of Herman J. Mankiewicz, who co-wrote the screenplay for “Citizen Kane” with Orson Welles (and was the subject of David Fincher’s biopic “Mank” for Netflix).

In Audible’s “The Big Lie,” released in 2022, Hamm’s FBI agent Jack Bergin sets out to shut down production of “Salt of the Earth” (a real movie, which was inspired by a New Mexico labor strike) after he becomes convinced that the three blacklisted filmmakers are using the film as a recruiting tool for the Communist Party.
“The Big Fix: A Jack Bergin Mystery” joins Audible’s slate of originals, which include “The Justice” from James Patterson, performed by Sanaa Lathan, David Rasche and Susan Kelechi Watson; George Orwell’s “1984,” performed by Andrew Garfield, Cynthia Erivo, Andrew Scott and Tom Hardy; “The Boar’s Nest,” performed by Mandy Moore and Ebon Moss-Bachrach; and “The Safe Man,” performed by Jack Quaid and Titus Welliver.
