Are Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson still feuding? It was one of the biggest questions to emerge out of the 2025 Golden Globes, but Diesel is here to end rampant speculation. The actor posted a friendly throwback photo with Johnson to his Instagram account along with the caption: “All love…always.” Diesel has his arm around a smiling Johnson in the photo and is giving the camera a thumbs up. The post is a reminder that Diesel and Johnson’s feud remains settled.
The Diesel-Johnson feud originally went viral in August 2016 after Johnson called out a “chicken shit” and “candy ass” co-star on Instagram. Word soon got out that Johnson was referring to Diesel, his co-star in several “Fast and Furious” movies. The two were filming “The Fate of the Furious” when they butted heads.
Diesel was a presenter at the 2025 Golden Globes. Before going into his speech and awarding the prize for cinematic and box office achievement to “Wicked,” Diesel looked out in the audience and spotted Johnson. He nervously chuckled and said, “Hey, Dwayne,” as the camera cut to Johnson awkwardly smiling. The crowd laughed given the two actors’ rocky history, and social media went crazy wondering whether or not the two were still beefing.

Diesel explained to Men’s Health in 2021 that the “tough love” he gave The Rock in trying to get a great performance out of him is what led to tension on “The Fate of the Furious” set.
“It was a tough character to embody, the Hobbs character,” Diesel said at the time. “My approach at the time was a lot of tough love to assist in getting that performance where it needed to be. As a producer to say, ‘Okay, we’re going to take Dwayne Johnson, who’s associated with wrestling, and we’re going to force this cinematic world, audience members, to regard his character as someone that they don’t know’…That took a lot of work. We had to get there and sometimes, at that time, I could give a lot of tough love. Not Fellini-esque, but I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing.”
Diesel attempted to end the beef later that year by inviting Johnson to return to the franchise in “Fast X,” but Johnson said at the time that “I would not be returning to the franchise.” That turned out to be a bluff. Their feud apparently ended after Johnson shocked fans by popping up as Luke Hobbs in a “Fast X” mid-credits scene. They will now star together in the upcoming 11th “Fast” movie.
“Last summer Vin and I put all the past behind us,” Johnson tweeted after “Fast X” opened in theaters in summer 2023. “We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve — and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.”
Given Diesel’s latest Instagram post, it appears the feud between the two actors remains in the past despite the speculation after the Golden Globes.
