Peacock President Kelly Campbell to Exit

Kelly Campbell is stepping down from her role as president of Peacock and direct-to-consumer at NBCUniversal, Variety has confirmed with sources.

Campbell was first named the head of the streamer in 2021 after having previously been president of Hulu.

Reps for NBCUniversal declined to comment.

Campbell joined Hulu in 2017 as chief marketing officer, taking over as president after the exit of former Hulu CEO Randy Freer. Prior to that, she spent 12 years at Google in various leadership roles across the Google Ads and Google Cloud businesses. She originally began her career in investment banking, working at JPMorgan Chase.

In November, Comcast announced the bulk of NBCUniversal’s cable networks, which have seen their revenue growth stymied by the cord-cutting revolution, would be spun into its own company, “SpinCo.” Firmly staying put alongside the remaining NBCU studio assets are streamer Peacock and powerhouse reality channel Bravo.

The new company will take about a year to separate from the rest of NBCU, will house basic cablers MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Oxygen, E!, Syfy and Golf Channel. It will also include digital properties Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes, golf-course booking service GolfNow and youth-sports platform SportsEngine. NBCU exec Mark Lazarus will serve as the new company’s CEO.
