The Weeknd has canceled his concert at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles that was scheduled for Jan. 25, and will delay the release of his forthcomingalbum, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” until Jan. 31.
“Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, i am canceling the Rose Bowl concert originally scheduled for January 25th,” he wrote on social media.
“This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time. In light of this, i have also decided to push the release of my album to January 31st. My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild.

At least 24 people have died in the Los Angeles wildfires and an area of 60 square miles has burned in the past week, according to CNN. More than 92,000 Los Angeles County residents are under evacuation orders and some 89,000 are under evacuation warnings, according to authorities.
The album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” is the final installment in his trilogy that began with his blockbuster “After Hours” LP in 2020. It will be followed by a companion film of the same title, starring the Weeknd with Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, in May. Few details about either project have been released, but the Weeknd spoke extensively with Variety about them in an article released last week.
The album will be followed by a world tour, so there is likely to be another Los Angeles concert taking place later this year.
