Zach Bryan Enlists Matthew McConaughey to Announce ‘Motorbreath’ Film and ‘One Final Major Label Album’

Zach Bryan is teasing an upcoming film and “one final major label album,” according to a voice note from actor Matthew McConaughey that he posted on social media earlier this morning.

In a clip posted to Instagram, Bryan enlists McConaughey to announce the film “Motorbreath,” which he suggests will document Bryan and his friends recording his final album for Warner Records. “This is not a film about a band,” says McConaughey. “This is a film about a boy from Oklahoma, a boy who joined the Navy with a love of writing. That writing connected with people — a lot of people. This film is about a group of best friends taking a two-week motorcycle ride across America while recording one final major label album. Oh, and the title of the film, you ask? ‘Motorbreath.’”

Bryan also released a snippet of a new song potentially titled “Birdie” with the caption “don’t mean to play your favorite cover, of between the bars” (very likely an Elliott Smith reference). He has been signed to Warner Records in partnership with his Belting Bronco imprint since releasing his 2022 breakthrough album “American Heartbreak.” During his time with Warner, he dropped two subsequent albums — 2023’s self-titled and last year’s “The Great American Bar Scene” — and earned several hits including “Something in the Orange” and “I Remember Everything.”

Though there’s no current release date for his “Motorbreath” film or final Warner album, Bryan did tease the record in Sept. 2024 on his since-deleted X account. In Nov. 2024, he put out a snippet of a song that’s expected to be included on the album, though details are unclear.
