Ridley Scott’s production company RSA is set to revisit the Battle of Mogadishu in a new Netflix documentary, “Surviving Black Hawk Down.”
The documentary, directed by Jack MacInnes (“Leaving Afghanistan”), will explore the real events of the 1993 battle between U.S. and Somalian forces, which inspired Scott’s 2001 film.
The feature, which was nominated for four Oscars including director, starred Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Hugh Dancy and Jason Isaacs, among others.
It also featured Orlando Bloom and Tom Hardy in the first flush of their careers
The three-part documentary will explore the real events behind the film, incorporating immersive storytelling and first person interviews from the people who witnessed it first-hand.

“Survivng Black Hawk Down” will premiere on the streamer on Feb. 10.
Jamal Osman and Emma Supple produce while Exec producers are Dominic Crossley-Holland and Tom Pearson. (Scott, who launched RSA in 1968 alongside his late brother Tony Scott, is not involved in creative on the project.)

RSA, which has offices in L.A, London, Amsterdam, New York and Hong Kong, has expanded its unscripted offerings in recent years, including Netflix doc “Robbie Williams,” directed by Joe Pearlman, and an upcoming Billie Jean King documentary, directed by Liz Garbus and Elizabeth Wolff.
