‘Twisters,’ ‘The Idea of You’ Lead Music Supervisors Guild Awards Nominations: Full List

The music behind Universal’s “Twisters” led the Guild of Music Supervision nominations with two nods. The film was nominated for best music supervision in major budget fims and best song written and/or recorded for a film. “The Idea of You” also landed two nods for music supervision and songwriting.

Other films nominated this year include “Wicked,” “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Emilia Pérez” and “The Brutalist.”

On the TV side, “Baby Reindeer,” “Fallout”,” Palm Royale,” ” English Teacher” and “Agatha All Along” are in the running for music supervision and writing categories.

As previously announced, the GMS Icon Award and Legacy Award bestowing recognition to an artist and a music supervisor whose role in the industry reaches excellence will be given to “Wicked” composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz and music producer Bonnie Greenberg, respectively.

Although the Academy doesn’t have a music supervision category at the Oscars, songwriters Diane Warren (“The Six Triple Eight”), Delacey, Jordan Johnson, Stefan Johnson, Maren Morris, Michael Pollack and Ali Tamposi (“The Wild Robot”), Abraham Alexander, Brandon Marcel and Adrian Quesada (“Sing Sing”) and Luke Dick, Shane McAnally and Lainey Wilson (“Twisters”) are on the Oscars original song shortlist. Notably missing from songwriting are Camille and Clement Ducol for “Emilia Perez.” The film is nominated in the music supervision category.

The winners will be announced during their awards gala at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Feb. 23. Performances and presenters will be revealed at a later date.
