Atresmedia Cine and Buena Vista Intl. have boarded as producers and distributors of Guillermo de Oliveira‘s upcoming Galiacian-language film “A Morte Nos Teus Ollos.”
The feature, also produced by Sideral and Sétima, is de Oliveira’s second after his 2019 debut documentary, “Sad Hill Unearthed.” Production will begin this fall, and the film will be released in Spain in 2026. Nuria Landete, executive producer at Sideral, will present the project at this year’s European Film Market’s Producer’s Spotlight.
Based on a 1994 true story, “A Morte Nos Teus Ollos” turns on two agents of the Vigo national police force who murdered a businessman, his wife, their eldest daughter and their housekeeper for a meager 20 million pesetas, or $160,000 at the time. The events happened only a few yards from Oliveira’s own house in Nigrán.
The film has garnered significant European recognition, including the best development project award at the Mia International Audiovisual Market in 2024. “A Morte Nos Teus Ollos” is financed by ICAA, AGADIC and Atresmedia.
