Jonathan Ross to Host U.K. Academy Awards Coverage as ITV Launch Oscar-Nominated Movies FAST Channel

Jonathan Ross is set to front ITV‘s Oscars coverage including hosting “the ultimate Oscars party.”

Ross, who will accompany U.K. viewers as they watch the ceremony on free-to-air for the first time in twenty years, will kick off hosting duties from 10.30pm GMT on ITV1 and ITVX in a companion show to the main event.

He’ll be joined by a panel of special guests, including some familiar faces and film buffs.

Unveiling its full line-up of coverage of the 96th Oscars, ITV has confirmed it will also stream the ceremony’s red carpet on ITVX from 9.30pm GMT with Ross King broadcasting live from L.A.’s Dolby Theatre. Behind-the-scenes content will also be added to the platform throughout the event.

The following day ITV’s flagship linear channel ITV1 will broadcast a 90-minute highlights package of the ceremony, which will also be available on its streaming platform ITVX.

Ahead of the event, the network has also programmed a host of Oscars-related content, including a livestream of the nominations on ITVX on Jan. 23 while broadcaster Charlene White and arts editor Nina Nannar will guide viewers through the nominees, snubs and surprises. ITVX will also launch nominee packages and a FAST channel featuring Oscar-nominated films from years past, from “Winter’s Bone” to “Black Narcissus.”

ITV’s regular news and current affairs programming including “Good Morning Britain,” “Lorraine,” “The Morning” and ITV News will also cover the latest Oscar news as time ticks down to the biggest showbiz ceremony of the year.

In Scotland all ITV1 content will be available via STV and STV Player.
