Variety Promotes Jamie Aronson to Associate VP of Events Marketing

Variety has promoted Jamie Aronson to Associate Vice President of events marketing.

Aronson has produced more than 200 events for the brand since she joined in 2017 as events manager, including festival studios and gatherings at Sundance, Cannes, Venice and Toronto. She is responsible for oversight of the publication’s live media production, budgets and experiential partner integration. In her expanded role, she will be instrumental in bringing Variety to new markets, creating strategic opportunities for the business and delivering on profitability targets.

“We are excited to promote Jamie Aronson as she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity,” said Dea Lawrence, Variety‘s Chief Operating and Marketing Officer. “With Jamie Aronson at the helm, Variety has produced the most premium live media events in the business: beautiful, elegant, engaging and memorable. We look forward to the expansion of this all-important division of Variety under her guidance.”

Aronson has more than doubled the number of live events Variety produces to more than 80 annually and has helped establish and execute new live media franchises globally — including events in Miami, New York and Los Angeles. These include the annual Power of Women celebration, the Women of Reality TV Dinner, the Variety x Golden Globes Breakthrough Artists Awards in multiple cities and all of Variety‘s FYC partnered events.

“I am proud to be part of the legacy that is Variety. The scope of our entertaining and emotionally impactful programs, in addition to the inspired physical atmospheres we create, make our projects exciting and worthy of the industry we serve,” Aronson said. “I look forward to working even more closely with one of the finest and most dedicated teams at a time when there’s a spotlight on the business of entertainment.”

With her promotion, Aronson will continue to pursue relevant and purpose-driven narrative events tackling issues like gender equity in Hollywood, as well as grow Variety’s unrivaled presence at film festivals around the world.

Aronson reports to Lawrence and is based out in Variety‘s the Los Angeles office.
