Pulsar Content, Digital District Entertainment Form Strategic Partnership

Paris-based international film sales company Pulsar Content has formed a strategic partnership with Digital District Entertainment, a leading post-production, VFX and production facilities company, with offices in France, Belgium and India. The partnership will create “a streamlined and cost-effective production process for international film projects,” according to a statement.

Pulsar Content’s Cannes lineup includes Un Certain Regard’s “Niki” by Céline Sallette, Antoine Chevrolliers’ “Block Pass,” premiering in Critics’ Week, and Camila Beltran’s “Mi Bestia,” premiering at Acid.

DDE’s Cannes lineup includes Julien Colonna’s “Le Royaume” in Un Certain Regard and Patricia Mazuy’s “Visiting Hours” in Directors’ Fortnight.

The companies have previously worked together on several films, including “The Deep House” by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, which sold to Blumhouse for the U.S. and Universal for international territories. They also teamed up on Edouard Salier’s “Tropic” and “Mads” by David Moreau.

DDE’s recent acquisition of Victorine Studios, a film studio with a rich heritage located in Nice, France, provides an additional benefit. Victorine Studios has hosted many iconic films, including François Truffaut’s “Day for Night,” Marcel Carné’s “Children of Paradise” and Jacques Tati’s “My Uncle.”

Pulsar Content’s extensive experience in international co-productions coupled with DDE’s production capabilities encompassing studio, post-production and VFX offers “a seamless and cost-effective solution for bringing ambitious film projects to life, from script to screen,” according to a statement.

The partnership is enhanced by France’s Tax Rebate for International Production program, which offers financial incentives for productions that spend a minimum of 10% of their budget in France.

Pulsar Content’s co-founders Gilles Sousa and Marie Garrett said: “European and international co-productions are becoming a more and more important part of our development strategy, and we are super excited to enhance our already greatly valued relationship with Digital District.

“The Victorine Studios are absolutely legendary and the vision [David Danesi, CEO of DDE] and his team have for them is already attracting productions from all over the world including the U.S. We cannot wait to take our privileged partners to this great creative hub and announce the first projects together.”

Danesi said: “Pulsar’s global sales network is a perfect match for our cutting-edge technology. Plus, France’s TRIP program makes producing high-quality films even more attractive for Pulsar’s clients. Together, we’d be a powerhouse, bringing incredible visuals to a worldwide audience.”

Pulsar Content is part of the Logical Pictures Group, which has 11 films selected by Cannes.
