Producer Nate Moore Leaving Marvel Studios After 14 Years, Will Still Work on ‘Black Panther 3’

Nate Moore, a top creative executive at Marvel Studios and producer of “Black Panther,” “Eternals,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World,” is leaving the studio after 14 years to pursue independent producing. He will remain part of the producing team for the third “Black Panther” movie, which Ryan Coogler is anticipated to direct.

“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios,” said Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito in a statement. “He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next ‘Black Panther’ movie.”

After starting out at Participant Media, Moore started working at Marvel Studios in its earliest days, when it had only released the first two “Iron Man” movies and “The Incredible Hulk.” He helped to develop what became the screenplay for “Guardians of the Galaxy” and served as a co-producer and executive producer of 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War.” He was also a key creative force on 2018’s “Black Panther” as an executive producer.

“Nearly everything I know about producing I’ve learned from my time at Marvel Studios,” Moore said in a statement. “I feel lucky to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films. But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for ‘Black Panther 3.’”

Moore will remain at Marvel Studios through March, following the release of “Brave New World. The film picks up after the events of the 2021 Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” which Moore executive produced.
