Neil Cavuto Exits Fox News After 28 Years

Neil Cavuto, a longtime Fox News anchor who joined when it launched in 1996, is exiting the cable news network.

Cavuto’s contract with Fox News was due to expire at the end of 2024; the network offered him a new deal and he declined, a source familiar with the situation said. His departure comes as TV news orgs across the board continue to try to rationalize costs for high-priced talent. Cavuto has overseen business news content for both Fox News and Fox Business Network and led special events coverage for FBN. Cavuto did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media,” a rep for the network said in a statement. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”
