Carlos Santana Postpones Las Vegas Residency After Suffering Accidental Fall and Broken Finger

Carlos Santana has postponed the upcoming run of his 2025 Las Vegas residency due to an “accidental fall” that left him with a broken finger.

The legendary guitarist was slated to kick off his residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Jan. 22, but suffered a fall at his home at his vacation home in Hawaii that required pins to be put in his finger. Santana was scheduled to play eight shows at the venue through Feb. 2, and tickets for those performances will be honored at rescheduled dates.

“I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai,” said Michael Vrionis, president of Universal Tone Management, in a statement. “He took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand. He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.

“Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal,” Vrionis continued. “Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”

Though the initial residency at the House of Blues has been postponed, Santana is still scheduled to play shows on his tour docket throughout the rest of the year. In addition to one-off performances in Phoenix and Nashville, he will resume his residency in Vegas starting May 14. Rescheduled residency shows will be announced at a later date.
