Scarlett Johansson Joins ‘Today With Jenna & Friends’ as Guest Co-Host After Hoda Kotb’s Departure

Scarlett Johansson will appear as a guest co-host on “Today With Jenna & Friends” on NBC, beginning Jan. 21.

Jenna Bush Hager shared the news about Johansson’s week-long gig with People magazine.

“Scarlett Johansson is the queen!” Bush Hager told the publication. “First of all, I’ve been obsessed with her movies since forever. The ‘Girl With a Pearl Earring,’ I mean that shows you I’m a nerd who loves to read. She’s also a big reader, which will be so much fun. We have so much in common.”

On Monday, Bush Hager announced the names of three guest co-hosts who will be joining her during the first week of “Today With Jenna & Friends” following Hoda Kotb’s departure: Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer and Eva Longoria. Henson will appear on the morning show on Jan. 13 and Jan. 17, while Longoria will join on Jan. 14 and Palmer on Jan. 15. Johansson will be a guest co-host during the show’s second week.

In an interview with Variety, Bush Hager discussed the search for a new co-host, saying, “I am involved.” She also mentioned that there isn’t a defined timeline for selecting a new partner for the show.

“I feel like our audience deserves the time to get to know a ton of different people, ton of different backgrounds,” she explained. “We’re hoping to pull up the chairs to all different types of people. I think there will be some surprises for sure. And so it’s like when we know, I think we’ll know.”

“Today With Jenna & Friends” is set to launch Jan. 13 as the new version of the fourth hour of “Today.”
