‘WWE 2K’ Franchise Coming to Netflix as Streamer Also Sets ‘Ginny & Georgia’ and ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Mobile Games

Netflix is further expanding its partnership with WWE with a new exclusive deal for the mobile versions of the popular “WWE 2K” video game franchise.

Made by Take-Two Interactive’s 2K Games studio, the “WWE 2K” mobile games will be available to Netflix subscribers beginning in fall 2025. This furthers Netflix’s relationship with Take-Two, which also has the rights to the mobile versions of the “Grand Theft Auto” franchise, which is developed by Take-Two’s Rockstar Games label.

On the originals side, Netflix is continuing to grow its lineup of games based on its own IP with upcoming mobile titles adapted from TV series “Ginny & Georgia” and “Sweet Magnolias.” These will launch under the streamer’s “Netflix Stories” collection, a catalog of interactive fiction games mainly based on romance and dating-focused series. Additionally, Netflix will release “new original stories” for its existing “Love Is Blind” and “Outer Banks” mobile games that are part of the “Netflix Stories” franchise.

All of these new titles join more than 100 Netflix games, both original and acquired, currently available on the streamer’s app. Netflix’s mobile titles are available to subscribers without any ads or in-app purchases.

It’s still early days for Netflix’s gaming business, which is led by Epic Games vet Alain Tascan, but the division has recently seen big success with the release of “Squid Game: Unleashed” ahead of Season 2 of “Squid Game” in December. The game is already tracking to be Netflix’s most-downloaded game to date. Per Sensor Tower, “Squid Game: Unleashed” bested “GTA: San Andreas” by approximately 50% in number of downloads during the games’ respective first 30 days post launch on Netflix.
