Amy Poehler to Launch Podcast ‘Good Hang’ With The Ringer, Spotify

Amy Poehler is launching a new podcast with Spotify and Bill Simmons’ The Ringer, Variety has learned.

“Good Hang with Amy Poehler” will debut on Spotify in March. Per the official description, the weekly video series will see Poehler “talk to famous people about what makes them laugh, what they found funny recently, and much more. She’ll also talk to the people in her life about what makes her laugh and to solicit questions for podcast guests.”

“I am so excited Spotify and Bill are welcoming me,” Poehler said. “I can’t wait to have some good, dumb fun.”

“Good Hang” is produced by Spotify’s The Ringer and Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions. Poehler and Simmons executive produce along with Jenna Weiss-Berman, head of Paper Kite Audio.

“Amy should have one of the biggest podcasts in the world — she’s a great hang, she’s funny, she’s curious, she knows everybody, and she actually loves the genre and puts real thought into what works and what doesn’t work,” Simmons added. “It’s amazing. Poehler is one of the most celebrated comedians of modern times, known in particular for her time on “Saturday Night Live” as well as for leading the critically-acclaimed comedy series “Parks and Recreation.” Through Paper Kite Productions, she has starred in the scripted comedy podcast “Say More with Dr? Sheila.” The series was part of a three-season comedy podcast franchise with Audacy.
