PBS NewsHour, Politico to Host Democratic Debate in December

PBS NewsHour and Politico will team up to host a debate among Democratic presidential candidates in December.

The two media outlets will moderate an event slated to be held December 19 at the University of California, Los Angeles.

The debate will air live on PBS and will be streamed online on PBS NewsHour and Politico digital platforms, with a format and moderators to be unveiled at a future date

To take part in the event, candidates will have to demonstrate either support of 4% or more ini at least four qualifying national polls or single-state polls in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and/or Nevada,  or support of 6% or more in two qualifying single-state polls in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and/or Nevada. Candidates will also have to show donations from at least 200,000 unique donors, as well as a minimum of 800 unique donors per state in at least 20 U.S. states, territories or the District of Columbia.

MSNBC and The Washington Post are already scheduled to moderate a debate among the Democratic candidates from Georgia on November 20.
