Emmys 2020: Top Writers and Producers Share Their Hopes for Nominations

Those who make television often have little time to actually watch the medium, but that changed greatly in spring when a global pandemic hit and those who usually spend almost 20 hours a day creating suddenly found themselves with many of those hours free to consume media.

Faced with approximately 500 scripted series alone — and a looming nominations-round Emmy ballot in front of them — writers and producers set out to study their peers’ work.

Here, a number of those creatives tell Variety what series (other than their own) with which they have fallen in love and hope to see nominated at the 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
