Fox Weather Sets Executive Leadership Team

Fox Weather unveiled its senior executive structure ahead of a launch of its ad-supported streaming service devoted to all things meteorological in the third quarter of 2021.

The leadership team will include: David Clark, senior vice president and head of programming; Steve Baron. senior vice president of digital product and strategy; Mike McClain, senior vice president and general manager; Dianne Doctor, vice president of programming development; Tim Gaughan, vice president of news operations; and Deante Parker director and head of video operations and audience development.

Each executive will report directly to Sharri Berg, president of the new unit. Fox Weather is part of Fox News Media and aims to rely on a team of more than 75 meteorologists across stations owned and operated by parent company Fox Corp. along with Fox News newsgathering personnel. The company will provide local, regional and national weather updates as well as live programming.  

Four of the executives — Clark, McClain, Doctor and Parker — come from within the company. Clark was overseeing weekend programming at Fox News Channel. McClain will continue to oversee two Fox stations in Orlando while adding his Fox Weather duties. Doctor will continue to oversee Fox’s WOR in New Jersey and managing affiliate relations for Fox News Edge. Parker joined Fox News in 2017 and has managed digital operations strategies aimed at audience development.

Two of the executives join from other businesses. Gaughan was a vice president at CBS News, but worked at Fox News between 1998 and 2010. Baron joins Fox Weather from Local Media Association, where he most recently served as chief strategy officer. Previously, he worked at Nexstar Media Group,
