Don Lemon Fires Back at Kanye West Over Grammys Red Carpet Report: ‘Get Your S— Straight … That MAGA Hat Must Be Too Tight on Your Head’

Don Lemon fired back at Kanye West after the controversial rapper called the former CNN host a “goofball” and claimed Lemon spread an incorrect rumor that West and his wife, Bianca Censori, were kicked out of the Grammys. Censori shocked the red carpet by wearing a nude outfit. The couple then left the event without ever going inside the Crypto.com Arena.

Despite online rumors that West had been booted from Grammys, sources close to the Grammys told Variety at the time that such claims were “not true” and that West simply “walked the carpet, got in his car and left.” West targeted Lemon in a since-deleted Instagram post as the source of the rumors, although Lemon denied it in a video posted to his YouTube page.

“First of all, Kanye, Yee, Ye, whatever your name is — I did not start a rumor about you being kicked out of the Grammys,” Lemon said. “I actually corrected it. I saw someone on your team who asked me to correct it because it had been reported everywhere. First of all, get your shit straight.”

Lemon then added with a laugh: “You, of all people, calling me a c—? Negro, that Make America Great Again hat must be too tight on your head.”

West was nominated at the Grammys this year in the best rap song category for his song “Carnival,” which he co-wrote with Ty Dolla Sign. The duo lost the prize, which went to Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us.” Censori, an architect who works for West’s Yeezy company, reportedly married the rapper in a private ceremony in January 2023.
